Following the news of Moira Barton’s (Natalie J Robb) upcoming Emmerdale storyline, fans are wondering if the mammoth secret she’s keeping might have something to do with Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb).
Mackenzie arrived in 2020 as Moira’s brother.
A few months later, we learnt more about their past, establishing that Moira left the family home when Mackenzie was around 6 years old.
Moira decided to leave after taking the blame for their mother having an affair.
This caused a troubled Mackenzie to believe Moira was abandoning the family, hence the reason for their difficult relationship when he first arrived.
While things are a lot better between Mack and Moira now, things could change dramatically when Moira’s new story begins.
‘Moira is going to make a big confession to one of the villagers,’ producer Laura Shaw told Metro.co.uk
‘It’s a secret from her past that she’s going to reveal. She does it in a way to try to help the person that she’s talking to, but how is that person going to react when they find out Moira’s deepest, darkest secret?’
‘If they blow it, it could threaten Moira’s whole life,’ she warned.
And what is the secret fans are currently speculating?
Mackenzie might be Moira’s son.
One Twitter/X user was suspicious recently while watching Moira with Chloe (Jessie Elland) and baby Reuben, who is Mack’s son.
They wondered: ‘The way Moira keeps going on to Chloe, that she will always be a part of their lives, gives me feeling Ruben is actually her grandson.’
