After nearly 25 years, Suranne Jones has finally reunited with her Coronation Street co-stars.
The 45-year-old actress has enjoyed a long television career, getting her first breakthrough role in Coronation Street in 2000.
The Gentleman Jack actress was introduced to the sao as Karen Phillips, a friend of Linda Sykes (Jacqueline Pirie), who was taken on at Underworld as a new machinist – and who quickly proved popular with the men of Weatherfield.
Taking to Instagram, Suranne shared a selfie with previous Corrie stars Sally Lindsay (Shelley Unwin) and Jennifer Boardman (Geena Gregory).
She penned: ‘Karen, Gina and Shelly went on a gals trip… ❤️ @sallylindsay73 @jennifer_boardman Nearly 25 years on and still as daft! #classiccorrie.’
Fans naturally went wild over the snap with one person writing: ‘Isn’t it time for you to do a show together?????’
Another added: ‘Great to the old gang back to take over Underworld.’
A third agreed: ‘Aww love the corrie reference! the early 2000s were a great era.’
Suranne’s character was last seen in Weatherfield on Boxing Day 2004, after Steve ended their marriage and asked her to leave.
Karen was written out of the show after the actress decided she wanted to move on.
‘I just thought, while she’s brilliant and I’m enjoying her, I’ve got to get out,’ she explained. ‘I was living and breathing Karen McDonald.’
In a dramatic showdown, her onscreen character of Karen led Tracey Barlow and Steve to believe their daughter Amy was dead despite her actually being with Roy.
Suranne took on the lead character of Doctor Foster in the acclaimed BBC drama Gentleman Jack.
She has also starred in Strictly Confidential, Harley Street, Scott & Bailey and Save Me – to name a few.
